HANDMADE
HISTORY
The history of our little cottage shop started back in 2017 before I had my first child. My grandmother actually helped brainstorm the name. I think she dreams of having a cottage in the mountains of Colorado where she used to live. Maybe one day we can live that dream. She wanted a way to sell all of the quilts and baby blankets she has made throughout the years. We have an entire room in our house dedicated to just that. My love of traditional cooking and food preparation has led me to add other things into the shop such as our homemade kefir grains that are fed with raw milk that we get from a local dairy a few towns over. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was just a child. We find it really helps with our mental clarity, so it made sense to add in some of our handmade items. We had a fire back in 2022 and spent a long six months in a hotel room awaiting the reconstruction of our house. During that time, I ran across a tutorial on some sweet little chicken potholders that became a guilty obsession. Friends and family would ask how we were passing the time, and we couldn't help to reply, "making chicken potholders...". I have several sets on the shop and still love making them to this day.
