About Me

Originally from Oklahoma, I have also lived in Montana and Oregon, and spent childhood summers visiting Indiana. I was raised by my grandparents and am currently raising my own three children 2, 3, and 5. They are the light of my life and motivate me to be successful. I moved back to Oklahoma in 2013 after my grandfather's passing. My grandmother started teaching homemaking skills from a young age such as crochet and sewing. My love of cooking comes from both of my grandparents, though my love of trying new and different foods definitely came from my grandfather. It wasn't until after I began my own obsession with sauerkraut that I learned about a house that he lived in with my grandmother in Colorado that had a basement that he would use as a root cellar to store his homemade jars of sauerkraut. I still keep homemade sauerkraut in my fridge to this day, along with raw milk from our local dairy which I use to make kefir. I'm still learning and growing. My goal in this life is to give my children the love and skills they need to enjoy this world as it is and to help make it a better and healthier place for our future generations.

Projects

Organic Kefir

Gusher Pads

Flannel Squares

To make kefir for my family I travel to a local farm once a month to pick up raw A2 milk. This trip is always very special as the kids love to get out and pet the baby cows while the mamas are being milked. They are Brown Swiss cows raised on native grass and alfalfa without the use of hormones, antibiotics, chemicals, or grain.  The end product is our nutritious kefir that we love making into smoothies. I do not sell my kefir, but you can find my kefir grains in my MCA shop.

We first got the idea for our Flannel Squares after buying a serger for the gusher pads. I had some leftover fabric and had heard or people doing something similar for use as a baby wipe. They can really be used for so many things, like baby receiving rags, wash cloths, paper towels, and even as toilet paper. They are free of chemicals, save money, and take a lot less time to break down into the environment.
